Nicole's is a consistent stunner, upholding its reputation just fine with this vintage, a vibrant and spicy take on rich, robust cherry and black raspberry that's both juicy and smooth. The finish wraps up nicely with a take on dark chocolate and mint.

Just beautiful. Showcases true Russian River characteristics of dryness, acidity and, in this vintage, exceptional ripeness without too much alcohol. Silky and complex, with deep, long flavors of cherries, currants, cola, pomegranates, leather, cocoa and peppery spices. A tremendously attractive wine that will age for a good six years.

Here's a luscious, delicious Pinot Noir for drinking now. It's made in the modern style of soft ripeness, and features upfront cherry, cranberry, sweet fig and sandalwood flavors, with a tangy dusting of Indian spices. The acidity and tannins are near perfect. Drink now–2016.

This is a complicated young Pinot; and while the parts are all pretty and polished, they haven't knitted together. Voluptuous flavors of cherries, cola, spices and cedar are wrapped into silky tannins, and the acidity is fine and brisk, but as good as the wine is, it seems unfinished, like the score to a symphony that has yet to be played. Give this until mid-2008, and it should be terrific for the next four years.

The 2005 Nicole's was an opulent wine. The 2006 is not. Instead, it's a structured one that could improve in the next 2 or 3 years. Currently it shows a tannic, acidic dryness, but there are rich flavors of cherries, tangerines, currants and root beer, with an Asian spice finish.
